Is there anywhere more magical at Christmas than New York City? It’s our favourite place to be during the holidays, and this year, we had the pleasure of visiting one of our bakery clients: Billy’s Bakery NYC. They’ve been serving their communities since 2003, and now have four locations all around Manhattan.
We sat down with Julie Dugas, Billy’s Bakery Director of Operations, to learn how they use Store Pickup + Delivery to manage their orders.
Sam Forde, Zapiet’s Merchant Success Manager: Thanks for talking to us Julie! So, when did you start offering delivery of your products? Was it before you began using Store Pickup + Delivery?
Julie: Yes - we started offering delivery around 10 years ago. Back then, our orders were placed by customers in-store or over the phone, and we fulfilled them with our own delivery van.
Sam: How important is it to offer your customers store pickup options for the orders they place online?
Julie: Allowing customers to pick-up in-store is crucial to our cash flow! More times than not, customers make additional purchases when they come in for pick-ups.

Sam: Did you have another solution before installing the Zapiet app on your Shopify Store?
Julie: We did not. We had to do the whole process manually.
Sam: Now that you’ve been using it for a good while, what would you say you like most about using Store Pickup + Delivery?
Julie: The customer service rocks! Response time is superb.
Sam: Do you face any limitations in the app’s features, or have things you’d like to see added or improved?
Julie: We don’t experience any limitations with Zapiet, however, I'd like to see some detailed integration w/Deliv when it comes to package/parcel counts (which could take the form of a weighted system). That would be great.
Sam: Did you find it easy to install the app and make use of all of its features? Through that process, did you need to use technical support or lean on Zapiet’s customer support to get going?
Julie: It was seamless... no need for support and I’m not even a technical person!
